HARASSMENT?

IT’S NO JOKE!

Every worker should be treated with dignity and respect.

We do not tolerate harassment, bullying or discrimination – wherever it comes from.

Our workplaces should be free from the misery caused by harassment and all workers should expect to be treated with dignity and respect. Every CWU member has been issued with a members’ guide on dealing with harassment – please read it!

Even if you don’t want to make a complaint at this stage or you don’t feel you can give your Union any details about the harassment, you should still contact them for advice on what you can do to get the harassment to stop.

All CWU representatives have been issued with guidance on how to assist members to deal with workplace harassment.

Unable to speak to anyone in your local Branch?

You can contact the CWU Harassment Helpline on:

0800 107 1909

or email: cwudignityandrespect@firstassist.co.uk

This is a confidential, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week service.

Your complaint will be logged and passed onto the CWU National Equality Department who will normally liaise with your local Branch to determine what assistance you may need.

If you are being harassed remember:

  • You are not to blame
  • You have a right to get it stopped

You should contact your local Union rep and/or your Branch who will be able to assist you.

Harassment is Bad News! Remember:

  • Harassment causes misery
  • Harassment can be unlawful
  • Harassers can end up in court
  • Harassers can be disciplined and sacked by their employers
The good news is that harassment can be stopped and is preventable.
