HelpInformation for users of Microsoft Windows Browsers (Internet Explorer)Internet Explorer Pop-Up Blocker. If you are using a Microsoft Windows web browser (Internet Explorer version 6 and above) there are some changes you can make to the way your browser operates. Window browsers incorporate a Pop-Up Blocker that will automatically block all pop-up windows that are opened by web-pages themselves. By default, users of these browsers will not see this type of pop-up window. You can 'always allow pop-ups' from sites you trust. The www.cwu-ccc.org site does not feature annoying advertising pop-up windows that the blocker is designed to prevent. You may see a message that "Internet Explorer has restricted ... active content" on a
page. You can trust this type of content on the Follow these instructions to change the way pop-ups are handled on any web site you visit.
When you visit the site, you will see a message beneath the Address Bar: "Pop-up blocked.
To see this pop-up or additional options click here...".
Click on this message and you will then be shown a sub-menu where you can select the second
option: "Always Allow Pop-ups from This Site...".
After selecting this option, you will be asked to confirm that you would like to allow pop-ups from the site. Click the 'Yes' button. Once this is done, you will automatically see all pop-ups from the site.
On web sites that you have allowed pop-ups you will see the "green tick" icon in the
status bar at the bottom of the browser window. You can click this icon to change your Pop-up
Blocker settings.
You can also access the Pop-Up Blocker settings from the main menu on the Browser, select: Tools > Internet Options... > select the Privacy tab, then click on the "Settings..." button in the Pop-Up Blocker section. You can add the addresses of other web sites you want to allow Pop-ups from, or delete them from
the list. More information |
